What a fantastic day at the Builders Extravaganza on Saturday, with players and spectators alike enjoying one of the most unique and entertaining events on the darts calendar.

A total of 11 pairs took to the oche, battling it out across the legendary London’s five boards. The format proved a true test, with players and scorers navigating the unusual layout of 3 x 20s, 3 x 15s, 3 x 10s and 3 x 5s. Starting from 605 and still needing to finish on a double added another layer of difficulty—but also plenty of laughs.

Played in a double-elimination format, the competition built to a thrilling finale between Brad and John, and Austen and Simon. In a best-of-three decider, Austen and Simon rose to the occasion, claiming the 2026 title after a hard-fought contest.

Switching back to standard boards in the afternoon, attention turned to the Builders Championship Singles, where 24 players lined up to challenge reigning champion Brad “The Butcher” Horton. A quick correction to earlier promotions, Brad was not defending back-to-back titles, with Joel “The Travelling Darty” having taken out the 2024 crown.

Once again played as a double-elimination tournament, the event showcased a strong mix of established names and emerging talent. The standard of darts was exceptional, with maximums flying in, big checkouts lighting up the room, and plenty of tight contests keeping everyone on edge.

After a series of high-quality matches, the field narrowed to the semi-finals before two epic battles set up a final between Roberto “The Italian Stallion (aka Cleaner)” and Simon “Sensei” Peacock. In the best-of-three final, Sensei was in dominant form, securing a 2–0 victory to claim the 2026 Builders Singles Championship.

A big thank you goes to Josh, Les and Austen for organising such a successful event, and to the staff at Dee Why Builders Club for keeping everyone well looked after throughout the day.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s extravaganza—who knows, we might even see another new twist introduced!
